Microsoft and OpenAI Partnership and Collaboration : AI News



On May 8 , 2025 , now OpenAI  announced and wants to reduce Microsoft's revenue share from 20% to 10% by 2030 , aiming for greater independence and restructuring efforts. It will follows OpenAI's decision to leave its for profit restructuring , and allowing its nonprofit for control.

During a U.S. Senate hearing on the same city , OpernAI CEO Sam Altman and Microsoft President Brad Smith emphasized the need for enhanced U.S, infrastructure and streamlined Ai chip export regulations to maintain a competitive edge over China. Atman highlighted the importance of developing U.S. - led AI rooted in democratic values.
 
Additionally , Atlman revealed that ChatGPT's weekly user base has grown by 25% since february 2025 , now exceeding 500 million users.
